The Firm

As a professional interior design firm K3 Design Studio Inc carries full errors & omissions and professional liability insurance. In order to carry this type of insurance the firm must be owned by a Registered Professional Interior Designer (RID). Its principal and staff must have an exceptional working knowledge of local building and fire codes as well as ongoing participation in continuing education courses and seminars to maintain and upgrade professional knowledge and skills.

We have been in business now for 11 years. We have grown to be one of the most recognized design firms on Vancouver Island. Although our work takes us all over the continent, we focus on our clients and never lower our standards to rush a project. We strongly believe in our capabilities and sacrifice nothing to achieve our goals.

Katarina Litva BA BID RID

Katarina Litva, principal designer and owner, received her Bachelor of Interior Design (BID) from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Interior Design. In 1999 Katarina successfully completed the NCIDQ certification and received registered interior designer (RID) status.  As well as running a professional interior design firm Katarina is also an instructor at Vancouver Island University in the Interior Design program. It is a comforting piece of mind for our clients to know that they are working with the professional who shapes the minds of the country's new designers. From 2004 to 2007 Katarina was a board member for IDIBC.

Alasdair Duncan BSC Environmental Science-Business Manager/Environmental Advisor                                                                            

In addition to managing all of K3 Design studios business interests, Alasdair brings a refreshingly GREEN take on design to the table. He advises on Green building techniques and technologies as well as providing in depth environmental sustainability analysis as required for projects . As we take an ever increasing interest in preserving our planets future, K3 Design Studio Inc remains well ahead of the curve by providing our clients with Green alternatives and a refreshing new look at design.  

Jennifer Duncan  Office Administrator

Jennifer ensures the office runs smoothly at all times and is responsible for scheduling, secretarial duties and IT systems. She brings with her 30 years of office management experience and is a vital component in K3's daily operations.
